Pilates on the mat and/or equipment is an ideal complement to any fitness routine, big or small. Through breath, awareness, and connection, my Pilates-based workouts help to balance musculoskeletal and fascial tension and tone of the body. This approach improves joint function and muscular recruitment patterns and can be applied to your daily activities, whether that be walking, hiking, playing sports, working out, parenting, or working a stressful job.

I have instructed clients with herniated discs, osteoporosis, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, meniscal and ACL injuries of the knee, Sacroiliac joint dysfunction, labrum tears of the shoulder and hip, rotator cuff injuries, hip replacements, knee replacements, spinal surgery, pregnant and post-natal clients, athletes, and dancers.

the Approach

A lifelong practice in dance

Rooted in anatomy and biomechanics, each program is designed around individual clients’ needs. Together, client and instructor focus on where there is strength, and pinpoint areas of the body that need releasing, strengthening, and lengthening. Sessions can incorporate a cross section of modalities including somatic breath work, balancing, HIIT, precise alignment work, elements of Yoga and dance techniques.

Sarah’s professional dance career includes dancing in New York City and abroad for choreographers Moriah Evans, Heather Kravas, Maria Hassabi, Milka Djordjevich, and Malin Elgan. She has performed at MOCA LA, Museion in Bolzano, Italy, Rockbund Art Museum in Shanghai, Atelier de Paris, Danspace Project NYC, American Realness Festival, Issue Project Room, Theatre De L'Usine Geneva, Judson Church, Dixon Place, BAX, and Dance New Amsterdam in NYC.

She grew up studying classical ballet and then trained in contemporary dance at North Carolina School of the Arts, then PARTS in Brussels, Belgium with Anna Teresa de Keersmaker.
